BBQ Cook-off Entry


Calling all amateur grillers, smokers, and meat cookers; Smoke & Barrel presents it’s 5th annual BBQ Cook-Off! Join us on December 2nd during Smoke & Barrel event to compete for the titles of Best Ribs & Best Freestyle – anything you can cook on a BBQ pit. There is an entry fee of $200 for each contestant, see below for more information and details. 

Don’t just Follow the Smoke during Smoke & Barrel, be the smoke!

Please include WHAT you will be cooking for the freestyle category when you check-out (include it in the order notes at the bottom)


  • Check In:
    • Check in begins at 6:45am on Saturday, December 2nd at the intersection of Ryan St. & Kirby St.
  • Cooking
    • Contestants are allowed to stat cooking at any time after check-in on Saturday morning until cooking end time of 2:30pm
    • Samples will be collected by 3pm
    • Each contestant must submit 3 samples per category in the containers provided by Smoke & Barrel
  • Awards
    • 1st Place in each category will receive a trophy, a $750 cash prize, & $1000 stipend to for a 2024 Smoke & Barrel BBQ vendor
    • 2nd Place in each category will receive a trophy & a $250 cash prize
  • Judging
    • Judges will be conducted by a panel of 3 judges per category:
      • Culinary Expert
      • VLC member
      • (blank)
    • Judges decisions are FINAL
